Who Is Alice Potts

Hello!

Bridging Material, Form, and Production

I am an Innovation Concept & Material Specialist who flips traditional product creation on its head. Rather than forcing off-the-shelf textiles into a design, I start at the molecular level—engineering performance capabilities directly into new substrates before product design or commercial development begins.

Educated at the Royal College of Art and having worked alongside researchers at Imperial College London, my practice operates at the intersection of raw biotechnology and commercial design. I specialize in researching, identifying, and diversifying bio-based matrices to replace petrochemical synthetics, toxic dyes, and polyurethane (PU) resins across luxury, footwear, apparel, and industrial sectors.

My work takes complex, volatile bio-substrates out of the lab and translates them into desirable, scalable, and commercially viable consumer products.
